Have you ever thought about living in Mexico for winter?
There is a first time for everything. You just need the proper information and guidance...
There are many reasons why you need to live in Mexico for winter. As a 13-year veteran of living in Mexico mostly full time...the first thing that comes to my mind is to leave those cold dark winters behind and switch them for hot tropical winters.
Somewhere on the beach in Mexico is where its warm/hot during the winter like the Riviera Maya, Oaxaca coast, or the Riviera Nayarit.
Ask yourself. Why not and what's stopping you?

Let's start with why not...
The main reason why not is because you have no idea where to start. Probably because either you have only vacationed in Mexico a couple times in a resort styled vacation and/or you have never been to Mexico before ever.
Furthermore, the idea of staying in Mexico long term and living amongst the locals might make you feel out of your element. You probably don't speak Spanish.
But what if I told you that I could easily teach you how to live in Mexico for up to 6 months at a time in a safe and comfortable situation that would not cost you any more than the regular cost of living you are currently experiencing?
That would include keeping your current home in Winterland and continuing paying your rent/mortgage there while at the same time renting a place to live in Mexico...

Here is how to live in Mexico for cheap,
1. Rent a 1 bedroom or studio flat in Mexico in or near (walking distance) a tourist zone for $300-$1000 usd.
2. Rent out your place in Winterland or find a house sitter that will pay you a small rental income.
3. Get a bike with a basket on it $100-$200
4. Shop at the local outdoor market for fresh produce, meats, and seafood. Also incorporate plant protein into your diet as well as fresh tropical fruits and vegetables.
5. Eat out at local's hotspots instead of tourist traps.
6. Live a more natural life that includes going to the beach almost daily, cooking at home regularly, and limiting your disposable income.
7. Buy cheap beachwear when you get to Mexico at local's discount stores rather than shopping for beachwear in Winterland or at tourist traps.
8. Find an at home hobby like learning how to to make an income from your computer instead of spending too much time at the bar.
9. Get a flight that is not at peak season and/or use the google hack for a super discount.
10. Arrive in Mexico in a low season month for cheaper prices and more availability for your vacation rental.

When applying these strategies above you will lower the cost of living so that you can off-set the price of your new Mexico vacation lifestyle winter versus your cold, dark and snowy/rainy winters in Winterland.
Yes even if you still have to pay rent or mortgage back home you can still easily break-even on the cost of living while paying double rent or mortgage.
Assuming you are on a budget and trying to break even, your goal is to recuperate the lost expenses paid in paying double rent. That is if you don't want to rent your place out while you're gone for 3-6 months or just move out completely and not have a home to return to.
Just the difference in the cost of rent is a big money saver on the cost of living. For example, if you can arrange to not pay double rent then you are already going to be saving on the cost of living just by being in Mexico and not living like a tourist. That can be very expensive. The steps listed above can help you with that.
But if you are going to have to pay your mortgage or rent in Winterland as well as rent in Mexico you can still break-even which means it will not cost you any more than it would if you stayed in Winterland all winter. The top 10 list above will keep your cost-of-living way below the cost of living in Winterland.
Let's say your cost of living in Winterland is $3000 usd and your cost of living in Mexico is $1000 usd. Your mortgage or rent payment in Winterland is $1500 usd. The difference in the cost of living is $2000 usd. Now even when paying double rent you are at a $500 usd surplus. So now you can add that to your cost of living in Mexico and go have some fun!
These are real numbers as long as you know how to live like a local. Making food at home is so cheap! Eating out can also be very cheap but I recommend to stay away from the street vendors unless it is a reputable street vendor that has a high-volume clientele and consistently runs out of food.
